Part 1: Prepress efficiency

In this month’s newsletter we will take a look at PDF content and certification.

S

The printing industry is constantly faced with basic prepress tasks that are very time consuming. The solution to combat this dilemma is task automation! This allows the operator to better utilise their skills and save time by cutting back manual tasks.

Interestingly, 85% of PDF files that are supplied to Australian printers are not compliant with the PDF standards (PDF/X-1a or PDF/X-4). So how can these PDF files reach compliance? PDF files that are processed through a preflighting technology such as callas pdfToolbox 4 or Enfocus PitStop Professional 9 in order to fix the required PDF to a PDF standard.

Why should you increase your prepress efficiency with automation?

As a prepress operator or manager, you are faced with repetitive tasks that are time consuming and take you away from those more important jobs

The bright solution is to automate these tasks by using callas pdfToolbox Server 4 and Enfocus PitStop Server 9 with Switch automation to free the operator

By using SwitchBOX, your business saves around $50,000 a year by automating manual tasks

The automation product packages can be customised to clients needs, reaching the return on investment within just 4 months! ROI Document

Next month’s newsletter will show you how you can improve your print quality by greater control of PDF colour reproduction.
